When India gained freedom in 1947 Army chief held the rank of C iN C. And he was a four star General. other two services were headed by three star officers such as Vice Admiral and Air Marshal. CIN C was no 2 after the PM. however soon their status was down graded and their precedence was reduced every year and to day they stand no where. Hence the cartoon
