INTO THE PAST WITH PAIN…249

(Gandhi, Patel and Nehru are seen sitting in a park at Hyderabad and chatting. They appear to be normal and relaxed.)

Patel. Bapu, We are having some good relaxation today after hectic hard work of a weak.

Gandhi. True. Work also should be followed by some play. All work and no play are not good.

Patel. Well said Bapu.

Nehru. Bapu, we are not playing now. We are relaxing only.

Gandhi. Look Punditji. Play does not mean one should play games of volley ball, cricket, gilli danda or tennis. It means relaxation. Even watching a movie is play. Any activity that gives mental and some physical relaxation is fine. Even yoga and meditation will do. You can have many examples. For instance, reading poetry, watching movie, bird watching, sight seeing, hiking, gossip, going for a walk, reading a book or magazine etc. are good examples. We are actually gossiping and deriving relaxation.

Nehru. Thanks Bapu for clarification.

Gandhi. Welcome dear.

Patel. Hee…heee

Nehru. Why say hee..hee? What was there to laugh?

Patel. I only laughed because Bapu, had to clarify to a Pundit. Then who has to be a Pundit?

Nehru. I never said I am a Pundit.

Patel. But you never objected to it.

Gandhi. Please leave him Patel. He is getting tense.

Patel. Fine Bapu. Do you know there is lunar eclipse today in the evening?

Gandhi. I learnt about it and I think we have to go back home in time and take a bath and do some prayers.

Nehru. True Bapu.

Patel. I do not think it is required. In fact people of India have been living with either solar or Lunar eclipses through out the year after 1947.

Gandhi. What is this nonsense? How can be there such long eclipses? We never heard about them. These are not astronomically feasible.

Patel. Hee..Hee. You are clean bowled sir. Umpires have no hesitation in giving you out for a duck.

Nehru. We do not understand you.

Patel. Friends, Now tell me how these eclipses are formed?

Nehru. It is very simple and well established. If moon comes in between earth and sun, Solar eclipse takes place.

Gandhi. If earth comes in between moon and sun, a Lunar eclipse will takes place.

Patel. What do our scriptures say? These are formed when Rahu or Kethu the demons whose heads were cut off by Lord Vishnu as Mohini( during distribution of nector) swallow the sun and moon occasionally.

Nehru. This is not scientific. I pity on your knowledge.

Gandhi. What Patel says is also true. Our nation has been living with such belief all these years before science came up. Even now, we have not disowned our mythology. Patel, I have not understood how India has been living with continuous eclipses right from 1947.This statement was made by you.

Patel. Bapu, After we got independence you entrusted the country to the leaders to run it based on democracy. I and you lived for very short time after that. First you left and within two years I also left. Only difference was that you were killed by Godse and I died natural death.

Nehru. Patel, why do you remind Bapu always that he was done to death by Godse? What you get by it?

Patel. I don’t get any thing from it. I only state fact. Should I say Godse hugged and danced with him and kissed him too at Birla Mandir before shooting the old man?

Patel. Did I say that?

Nehru. Whenever you say these words, he gets upset.

Patel. But he should not get upset. What is there to get upset? He is a great Mahatma and should be above all these things. I am sure he is. Was it not a fact that he was shot dead by Godse?

Nehru. He knows it well.

Gandhi. Eee…eeee….eeee.. How eclipses are concerned with all these things?

Patel. Please wait. Rahu and Ketu are dushta celestial grahas ( evil planets) as per scriptures. Once we departed, our people came under complete influence of many leaders all over country and most of them proved to be Dushta Grahas. They thrived on many evil acts such as electoral mischief like booth capturing, influencing voters by threats, pampering, inducements, money and liquor. After getting elected, they went berserk with evil deeds such as corruption, managing contracts, looting public money, all types of scams, misuse of position, power, ensuring dynastic succession, free travel, misuse of govt air crafts, train tickets in AC class, mafia activities, land scams, murders, kidnappings, anti national activities, mining activities violating all laws, making millions of crores of rupees and causing loss to the treasury. There is no end to the list. You name a crime, it is with them. These criminals are like Rahu and Ketu. In fact Rahu and Ketu are comparatively better guys. They leave moon and sun in short periods. But the present Rahu and Ketus do not leave in short time and hang on for years and years. Is it not true that the present leaders want to be leaders till they die. They hang on in chair even when they are unable to walk or talk. Year after year, they hang in to official positions committing all types of misdeeds. Then they promote their sons, daughters wives and close kin for rise. Many want to die in power, but would never leave willingly. Earlier in yore, there were only two such guys. Now there are infinite numbers of Rahu and Ketu.. The result is that these eclipses are eternal. That is why, I said India is under the continuous spell of eclipses after 1947.Haa..haa..haa..hee.hee. ( does fast jig)

Nehru. I do not know whether I should weep or laugh.

Gandhi.You should only weep. There is nothing to feel elated and be happy in this country. There is a definite truth in what Patel says. I am sure he is correct. During eclipses, one should take bath before and after the eclipse. This is the practice and one should eat before or after eclipse is over. They should also pray during the eclipse. Now we are under continuous eclipse throughout the year and year after year. Therefore, one must be in water all the time. True, people are in deep water all the time with the misrule by our leaders. They should fast during the period. True people suffer hunger and poverty too. They should pray too and people are exactly doing that praying all the time within hearts that God must soon appear in Kali yuga and get rid off these hardened criminals posing as great patriots lock stock and barrel immediately. The Kalki incarnation riding over a mighty horse wielding a divine sword is yet to appear and all are waiting for him to exterminate all these criminals and rascals from this nation.. Good Patel. Your theory is perfect. I greatly appreciate your timely wisdom.

Patel. Thanks. But Jawaharlal looks annoyed as usual..

Gandhi. Can he be happy at any point of time? Nice relaxation we had. Let us call it a day.

Patel. So be it sir.
