RSS NEEDS INTROSPECTION

RSS NEEDS INTROSPECTION

Dr K Prabhakar Rao

RSS as an organization has entrenched itself in India and has affiliated organizations and these are known presently as Hindutva parties and govt has successfully attcahed them a tag of fundamentalist Hindu parties.. Shiv Sena, BJP, Bajrangdal, Vishwa Hindu perishad, Hindu Maha sabha etc are the prominent ones. RSS itself is not taking part in the elections and is more concerned at this time about bringing awareness among people about Hindutva and Hindu rashtra. RSS as an organization is not against minorities. However it opposes policies that discriminate Hindus who are in majority and are persecuted in view of appeasement politics by the rulers from time to time for vote catching tricks.Yet RSS did not make its presence felt very strongly in the cases of Kanshi Swamy persecutionn, Insult to Ram chandraji by TN CM Karunanidhi, Ramdeva Baba episode in Delhi. .It was more or less cat on wall reaction. The organization can not survive on past laurels if an for long time.People have already forgotten that RSS took part in Republic day parade once. Why not every year now? What went wrong now ? The coalition govt led by BJP and its stalwart sri Honourable Atalji although ruled for full term did not return to power again. Why so ? People voted for it expecting great things from them. But it also functioned like any other govt. Kargil war took place during their time. The govt allowed Pakistan to escape the noose. They failed to settle Kashmir by capturing all the trapped militants and Pak army men. Terrorists held in jail were handed over to Taliban at Kandhar airport by a cabinet minister( Jaswant Singh?).The episode of Jaswant singh after his book publication itself was not liked by people. He again returned to party. ( Why) Ram temple did not move an inch and stalwarts of BJP were hauled up by courts for babri maszid episode.Ram Lala still is in the thick of debris. These cases are not finalised till today and hang as Democles sword on their heads. People who expect great things from BJP/RSS are in fact disillusioned. On the other hand, particularly in UP, Dalits and other backward communities were inspired by Mayawatiji and it dislodged others in UP for a wild goose chase.People in UP are worried for caste than on national patriotic issues. The elections in UP are completely taken over by Caste politics and local issues and people there are now less concerned about the national issues of Hindutwa. The issue of Hindutwa has become a stale and pale issue for them. BJP has no ground in AP and AP state is a simmering pot with local political issue and RSS inspired BJP has no chance in AP.It lost ground long ago. Hindus are highly divided on all issues. The local Muslim party AIMIM plays its card to influence Congress that has strong base. Majority of Hindus in India all over are self centered and run for momentary benefits and very few think on national patriotic issues and Hindutwa issues like Veer Savarkar or Patelji. Aftermath of Ram deva Baba episode is a clear example of Hindu thought and opportunism unlike minorities. Thus RSS has difficulties to emerge as very strong governing force in the country.Unfortunately, Many people are afraid of associating with it in view of reasons that have not changed much since partition.Congress dominated Govt has succeeded in dubbing it as Hindu fascist organization .There is a need to motivate people on long term national and patriotic issues and RSS is surely lacking on this front. Most of the time it is busy in thwarting attempts by the government to tag it with Hindu fundamentalists. Still, there is no confidence in people that it would build Ram Temple at Ayodhya, eliminate terrorism and discipline Pakistan.Unless RSS grows as progressive nationalist party with concrete plans to ensure fair governing, eliminate corruption and caste politics, it would be struggling eternally. What is happening in Karnataka is shameful and every one in the country is watching them. How they are different from other parties? BJP MsLA watched porn in the assembly. In Gujarat too there is an allegation that BJP MLA watched porn in assembly and an inquiry has been ordered. There will not be smoke without fire. These are very shameful things. If some one watches porn in his private room no one is concerned as it does not affect any one, but not in assembly hall. Still it shows his perversion and character. In the melee, other parties would be benefited. There is a definite need for introspection by RSS and its allies in such shameful atmosphere. If they have to capture political power they have to mean it, plan it and achieve it and get rid of opportunists and horse traders. It must have introspection and rise above petty politics that have become a daily affair in Karnataka tarnishing its image as a worthwhile opposition.

u cant blame hindus for no reaction of hindus after Ram dev baba episode as his act was betrayal and laughable! if his stand was correct and no bluder wud happen, the total scenario, may the new indias future wud have been different, we missed it because of none other than Ram dev baba himself, because of his blunder and betray to his supporter, govt dared to take action as govt knew that unlike muslim, hindu wud not stand with wrong! his written undertaking to stop fast after 4pm next day, escaping in sari, failure in 4 days fast was shameful and laughable! yes, govt charge lathi, burst tear gas, there was casualty, dispersing sleeping protester but at the end, it came to people mind that as Ramdev baba was the leader of that protest if he took wrong step, govt had got that chance to take action as per law and when our own house is not in order and going(continual of fast) on wrong base, how we went for further protest!
moreover, people just can not go out and organise protest , there shud be leader , organiser, it was not riot that people will repark, its against states law and order! however, spontaneous reaction cud be expected only if Ramdev babas stand was right!

I agree RSS is underground and they have to surface and show their activities to the people and for that other than RSS own media channel what can be best solution? but they r not doing that, o.k. they like to be underground and get abused, but one thing i will tell, RSS presence is proved as wherever RSS is not there or weak, Hindu is becoming extinct!

u must have heard now that Gujarat MLAS had got clean chit in porngate scandal after not found anything in their i-pod! its total congress ploy to demoralise BJP or better tell hindus as Gujarat is only hope for righteous hindus!

Thanks for the comments. True, RSS is underground and playing safe too.Media channel is rarely seen by common man and is limited to only a limited educated section. In case of Muslims, they have weekly congregations at mosques on Friday and it is compulsory for Muslims to attend the Namaz at mosques on fridays. On other days, they can even pray at homes too.In case of Hindus there is no compulsion laid down in scriptures and is left to individuals to pray or not to pray.In fact Hindis feel shy of going to temples and do not show pride in it. There are no organised congregations at temples. Some Babas and Swamis do give discourses some times and these are purely philosphical in nature and they teach what is good and what is bad in life.It is well known that prayer meetings at mosques have been used to stoke passions in past and such things do not happen in Hindu temples. Of late, Ramdev baba has taken up cudgels against the govt on issues of corruption and swiss money. How RSS plans to stimulate Hindu masses to get united on various issues? Religion is not a binding factor for Hindus as seen by us.In fact it was never so.Muslim generals betrayed Aliya RamaRaya of Vijay nagar in Tallikota Battle in 1646 while Hindu army was about to win. Rest is history. In history, there is no evidence of Hindu troops betraying any sultan in battle.Hemu led forces of Afghans at battle of Panipat II against Akbar and laid down his life.Hindu armies laid down lives for Tippu sultan against East India Company. Hindus although were in majority in India could not prevent partition in 1947.When cases were slapped against Kanchi swamy and was arrested in midnight and flown to Chennai from AP, RSS reaction was rather absent. There was lukeworm response. When a Maulvi of Hyderabad was arrested at Hyderabad by Gujrat police some time ago in the murder case of minister of Gujrat, Muslim reaction was intense at Hyderabad and there was criminal intimidation against Gujrat police near DGP office and Gujrat police Inspector opened fire and killed a guy. There was a trouble again during funeral in the evening. Such are the reactions and all these things are brushed under carpet.I agree that Ramdev Baba episode became a controversy and even the highest court blamed Delhi police apart from blaming Babaji.RSS has been a fence sitter in all these episodes. How people get faith in such organization? They must show concrete evidence for their commitment towards Hindusim. At Present their meetings are arranged in some big function halls displaying big paintings of Chatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj and usual rituals are followed there, apart from some lectures by chosen leaders. Some books are kept for sale at the gate and finally people vanish and action repeats at some other place. There is no crowd participation.Probably RSS would take very very long time still in uniting Hindus and by the time probably we would run out of time and India could turn into an Islamic state or into Mughalsitan if present situation is not countered.RSS better do something concrete if they have to prove their existence. It is not to belittle RSS, but present trend is not inspiring in the country and RSS displays its helpless position with naked truth staring at its face.
