She grew up in town LIda that was attacked ny Germans in WW II, she along with two siblings escaped to take shelter with friendly neighbour at a farm, but soon she had to shift over to a ghetto. She along with her siblings escaped from ghetto and joined. Famous bielski brigade in which she continued to serve in different capacities till the war was over, she hit married to a compartisan and they shifted to Canada where they raised a family. She lectured extendpsively on her partisan experiences.
