In fact Kargil war although was won is a great calamity to the nation. Indian army was caught with pants down and Pakis occupied major mountain peaks and our intelligence failed very badly. Our army woke up to Pak occupation after six months. Gen Mallik the army chief went to Poland on a visit reportedly after knowing about the occupation.it was the valor of young officers and men who sacrificed their lives to a tune of 530. comparatively there were many officer casualties. As usual Indian army was not equipped well for such war. Although. The govt celebrates Kargil vijay victory day it is infact a mourning day for the nation. think of the brave mothers young wives, fatherless kids who are left to fend for themselves while our leaders drink and enjoy after paying them a brief visit. .In fact , It is a shame to the nation for the callous attitude in defence of the nation. Think of former army chief gen Mallik who was away to Poland when Kargil war took place and it was the young officers and men who won the war for the nation and not surely the generals. The generals rather let down their troops and their hands are soiled from the holy blood of their troops. Sadly there was nothing for celebration as victory.
