WOLSELEY 8. 1947 model
it is small car based on Morris 8 side valve of same vintage. Most of the parts are interchangeable. However engine is an OHV type with same capacity fitted with SU carburettor. thus BHP has been increased slightly . Inside upholstery is of superior type. front grill of Morris 8 has been replaced with the famous Wolseley chrome. Grill .The front number is also varied type with split bumper. Rear dickey is hinged at bottom while Morris car. Had the dicky hinged at top.This car was priced higher then the Morris 8. the car sold well and became popular.
Wolseley motors merged with Morris later after the death of founders and after some years the name was also dropped.

I owned this car in 1974 at Bangalore and used it well. it was grand looking small car with imposing chrome grill.Tyres were not easily avaliable being 4.5 inch x17 size.the tyre production of this size was stopped long ago and. Owners had to run around for the tyres. I managed with resale tyres and did not venture to go on long runs. Luckily I could get few good tyres from second hand market and dismantled cars..
