Peters was the warden at the Ravensburk camp and was arrested by allies at the end of the war.He was tried at hamburg by British military court and was found guilty of war crimes. He was sentenced to death and was hanged on 3 may 1947 at Hamelen prison.His chest number during trial was number 4
