Ernst RĂ¼din (April 19, 1874 in St. Gallen – October 22, 1952) was a Swiss-born German psychiatrist, geneticist, eugenicist and Nazi. Rising to prominence under Emil Kraepelin and assuming his directorship at what is now called the Max Planck Institute of Psychiatry in Munich, he has long been scientifically honoured and cited internationally as the pioneer of psychiatric inheritance studies. He also argued for, designed, justified and funded the mass sterilization and clinical killing of adults and children. He argued that German race was fast deteriorating and loosing identity due to intermarriage so mixing up,of breeds and this has to be stopped. He was the guiding spirit in racial medicine and received honours from Hitler. after the war he was kept under house arrest and interned in U.S. After Denazification trial he was released with a minor fine.No doubt he was. An evil man in Germany and recommended eliminating children who were born to those who suffered from serious ailments and genetically would have passed to their children. eliminating sick, and invalids was based on the theory that these were burden on society and needed elimination. However he did not get the punishment that he deserved.
