An Indian lion was sitting in a very large enclosure in Hyderabad zoo. The enclosure was made simulating forest, hiding places, caves and Unassuming cages and some water pools also. it was after noon time . out side the enclosure ,there is a busy road and a sturdy wall more than 15 feet high separates enclosure and the road. Life is as usual and being an after noon and a working day there us hardly any visitor and few animal keepers are loitering Here and there.
Outside on the street some urchins were playing roadside cricket with tennis ball and a country Made bat made of some wood. Lot of yelling and shouting everywhere whenever ball is struck. Suddenly a person who was batting smacks the ball severely and the ball rises high sails over the zoo wall and falls inside. There is a large road side tree planted many decades ago and now it has grown very huge and its branches are spread over wide area covering a portion of the zoo also. every one loves That tree as it gives lot of shade.Boys star quarrelling for the ball..Narayan, fakira , Yadgiri, Saibaba, Joseph, devender Singh, Mahaveer, Osman collect and are arguing .
Narayan.. Let us go home now, We lost the ball
Fakira. why some should hit it so high. this is road
Yadgiri. from the start , I was telling that no one should hit the ball high and play safely
Saibaba. How can you control hitting when a guy is batting with force. this is play for fun
Osman. Sorry yar. I never thought ball will go
inside the wall.
Narayan , let us purchase a new ball
Yadgiri. We are not having money for that.
Osman . Let me see what can I do. I shall jump in to the compound and get the ball
A all shout .. Hurray
Osman climbs the tree and manages to climb a stout branch that has overgrown and spread into the zoo. he crawls on the branch and jumps in to the compound. a sound.. Thud is heard when he lands on the ground inside. With in seconds growls of lion are heard and a big shriek from Osman is heard. Again lion is heard roaring loudly. Boys are scared and run away from the place. All is silent.

Keeper. I have to see why the lion is roaring. It is not usual. There is no reason for it to roar. Let me see it. He quickly goes near the enclosure of lion and peeps inside. He Is shaken up as the lion is sitting close to a dead body of Osman. he shrieks and runs to zoo office. he runs to curators office panting and sweating .
Curator.. What happened Narsimha. Why are you scared and panting.
Narsimha .. Sir the lion has killed a man in the enclosure. I do not know how it happened . All locks are intact.
Curator gets up from the chair in panic and asks an armed guard to follow him. all quickly land up at lions enclosure and as they get close to the enclosure the lion growls and shows it's canine teeth, but otherwise the lion is quiet.
Curator. Narsimha.... the only way for a man to get in is from the tree. The person who was killed in all probabilities jumped from the tree and landed close to the lion. it was scared by sudden jumping and killed the person on the spot in retaliation.Nothing can be done. Narsimha. Try to take away the lion into the cage.
Narsimha the keeper calls the lion by name. sheroo.....sheroo. the lion gets up wags the tail and and comes to the fence Edge and Narsimha leads him to the cage which is close by. Once the lion gets in it is locked.
He speaks to the curator.
Narsimha.. Sir you have seen how good the lion is. There is nothing wrong with him.
Curator. I agree. We know the lion since more than ten years. it is majestic but not offensive.Every lion will have natural traits like not tolerating enemies. The lion considered the poor youth to be an enemy when he almost jumped on it from the tree. reaction was natural. he killed the youth who was a fly for a lion..now let us go. I have to file a report also after speaking to police.we have to send the body to post mortem too after meeting police.
Both go away.
