SONG BY SURENDRANATHJI FROM FILM DUKHIYARI

   SONG BY SURENDRANATHJI  FROM
                FILM DUKHIYARI

                 Dr K Prabhakar Rao

Ab hamko bhulado kahtehai.. kahte hai
Kahte thhe kabhi jo bhulana na.
Bhulana.. Bhulanana
Wo apnee nazar se kahte thhe
Har dil mein kisi ke banana…
Bhulanana.. Bhulaanana

Wo shaad raho abaad raho
Majabooriyonka ab jikr hi kya
Takdeer hi bigadee jab apni
Phir tumse kare shikwa kaisa
Ha..a……. Haaye
Wo shaadi Mubarak tumko
Meri barbaadi ka gum bhulaana
Bhulaanana..Bhulaanana

Iss roz mili thee tumse nazar
Aayenge thhe  jis ke kisko khabar
Wah geet khushee ke hai.. lab par
Armanoka maatam hai idhar

Aai dil tadapne  mein    hai jo maza
jo ho gaya tha jo hona tha
Ab hamko bhulado kahtehai.. kahte hai
Kahte thhe kabhi jo bhulana na.
Bhulana.. Bhulanana

Waha  varsha hogee phoolonki.. phoolonki
Ashko kee aisee lagi jhadi
Waha nache umange.. waha nache umange lahr badi
Yaa dushman jaa ek ek khadi
Aai  dard  sambhal ke  dekh maza
Ye hasrat ye dil tadpana..  Bhulana Bhulana
Ab hamko bhulado kahtehai.. kahte hai
Kahte thhe kabhi jo bhulana na.
Bhulana.. Bhulanana

Surendranathji was a great singer and gave Hindi cinema many number of hit songs. He had divine voice unlike the shriek singers of past and today. Sadly Rafi sahib too raised his pitch unnecessarily and melody was lost in the process. They had classical training. Same was the case with Mannadey. Rafi who reigned high in sixties dropped due to singing all pop songs. Damage was ultimate with Kishore ruling the roost. Surendraji never trecked the field of silly songs. All his songs were poetic, mostly sad( Melancholy) and of course some were bright too Like Ek bar phirse aja.. Dil me mere samaaja...IN fact Surendra represented urban version of Devadas. After 1954 he called it a day for singing in films. He acted in character roles and concentrated in business,He brought uo his sons Jeet and kaialash who have immense success in the field. sadly many vintage songs of Surendraji arenot available. All efforts must be made to retrieve them.
