SACRIFICE OF ALIYA RAMA RAYA OF VIJAYANAGAR
Dr K Prabhakar Rao
With a sparkle beaming in his bright eyes
And vigor reflected in his wrinkled face
The crown shining on the head
Rama raya entered the tent of Hussein Nizam shah with grace
His hands lay behind tied with fetters
Devoid of his glorious vicious sword
That vanquished Sultans several times before
Silence fell on the camp and none spoke a word
His head was held high as a peak
Although death stared at him oh dear
He face was free of fear and remorse
Raya stood towering without slightest fear
Hussein shah rose from his seat
While holding a naked sword in his hand
He walked to Raya standing with majestic grace
Who sacked many times his ill gotten land
“ Are you not guilty of mayhem and murder?
Vandalized Muslims homes when your troops streamed
The holy book Koran was desecrated by you
I hold you guilty” loudly the sultan screamed
“No “replied the composed king with gait”
Had I been anti Muslim to the core
How come I have Muslim troops?
They crossed swords with you several times before
I have built mosques for my Muslim troops
That they worship Allah the great and mighty
You have no case in real against me” the Raya quipped
“In war the defeat and victory are in the hands of destiny”
“Are not you nor scared of death” The sultan asked
“Not at all” the Raya replied looking bright
“Sultans anger had no limits and bounds
And he waved his evil sword high in air with all his might
The great warrior lay dead on the floor
His head still showing confidence to the core
Smile still flashing on his aged face
Rayas valor is beyond any description galore
Rayas head was cut off by the villains
And was displayed at the end of a lance
The sultans rejoiced as the head was paraded high in the battle field
And the Hindu army already lost the battle and the race
Raya was let down by his Muslim commanders on the field
At the call of Islam the traitors joined Sultans in block
Treachery is common in history for personal gains and rise
And the event has put back the Hindu empire clock
Hampi and Vijaynagar fell to the vandals in Muslim Troops
Who stayed in the city for five months at their will
Burnt each and every thing in the city
Ad destroyed the edifices to their hearts fill
The city has been destroyed to such an extent and people left it once for all
Over a period the city became a haunt for thugs thieves crooks and animals
Although statue Narsimha stands in a field defaced and tall
The destruction of the city is the testimony for Hindu hatred in medieval times
Although in modern times things are not different
The damage to our culture even stands naked today
And truth is bitter and stands out apparent
Ramaraya has faded into the history of India
Unsung and unheard while Muslim historians wrote absurd stories of him
The pseudo historians of India follow the ridiculous writings of these men
Only to get some and name with their faculties although very dim
Ramaraya valor glows like a bright star
Who stood guarding Hindu heritage culture
Some pseudo Indian historians write absurd stories of him
Pecking at a corpse like a filthy vulture
NOTE. Aliya Rama raya was the son in law of illustrious Sri Krishna Deva raya who was the greatest emperor of Vijaynagar empire that flourished in South India. After Krishna devarays death his step brother Achyuta Raya became the ruler and was challenged by Rama raya. The tussle for power went on for some time and after Achyuta Rays death Sadasiva raya became the emperor although Rama Raya wielded great power and in fact was a defacto king. Rama raya managed the affairs of the empire for more than two decades and kept the Deccani sultans at bay. He defeated them several times decisively and at last the Sultans waged Jihad against Vijaynagar by forming a confederation army. In the battle of tallikota fought on 23 Jauary1565 Muslim commanders of rama ray betrayed him while victory for him was at sight. Rama raya was captured and was taken to Hussein Nizam shah of ahmed nagar who immediately cut off his head. Hindu forces lost the battle and Muslim armies stayed at Vijaynagar and vandalized hampi and Vijaynagar to such an extent that it was abandoned soon. With this battle the power ad prestige of the empire was greatly eroded although it was not destroyed. The empire survived for another80 years before it faded out due to the treachery of its vassals. Rama raya has not been given his due by the historians although he struggled to keep Hindu flag high during his reign. Such heroes need no certificated from the Indian Marxist historians and pseudo leaders of India who are not leaving any stone unturned to appease Muslims and there by destroying the country. As a day passes the country is inching towards destruction.

I just returned from India. A week ago, my wife and I toured the ruins of Hampi for 2 days. We stayed at Hospet in Hotel Karthik. I must say we left Hampi with a very sad heart and lots of unshed tears. I do hope to return another day, fully realizing the the sadness that would envelop my heart to see what is left of the grandeur of Hampi and the Vijayanagar empire.
After reading your blog, I now realize how true it is that what stands today is a fraction of what was destroyed by Islam in the name of Allah.
Needless to say, I do hope that India is not razed by today's Islamic brigands.
when i see these pics of destroyed temples i could not sleep at night.
I want to take revenge .......
Since ( almost 7 years) I read the story of Vijaya Nagara , I have been very sad about it. atleast once in a week I remember Vijaya Nagara empire and Rama Raya. My blood still burns on incident of Rama Raya death. How cruel those Sultans. No hindu king / waariour destroyed enemiy's legacy after the victory . It was only possible to cruel muslim kings.
I actually visited Hampi when I was in 10th grade(1998) . I Still wondered the beauty of the city and its temples.
I am still in deep sad of decline of Vijaya Nagara empire ( probably it may last until my life). I want to question all the gods why they could not resist its decline. It doesnt even fit in karma theory ... what a great kingdom of vijaya Nagara . It is greatest and richest kingdom world can never see .
Our Hindu kings did battles as per dharma but those musalmans never followed any war rule. That was the main reason why Hindus lost to Muslims in several wars ( Prithvi Raj , Hemu , Vijaya Nagara etc).
Shivaji the great adopted this extraordinory and never lost a war in his life .
Still My India and Hindutva are great ... Jai Hind.
One day I'll visit Humpi...and pay my respects to the warriors who struggled to protect Sanatana Dharma against treacherous muslim kings, against all odds.
Respected Sir

There was sketch of RAMARAYA head on a website some time ago. it was said that Ramrays severed head was painted red and immersed in oil jar and preserved by the family members if Nizam shah the sultan of Ahmed nagar. Tallikota battle took place in 1565. The head was paraded every year by the family members till the initial years of 19 century. The head was reportedly kept at a mosque. However nothing in known about it. was it buried or stolen or destroyed. The site also is not available now. Strange.
Ibrahim kutubshah if Golconda also took part in Tallikota battle in 1565. Infact Ibrahim kutubshah took asylum with Rama Raya after he was persecuted by Jamshed kutubshah who got killed the aged sultan KULI , his father at Golconda and usurped the throne. He tried to kill his younger brother Ibrahim. Ibrahim ran to Bidar to get military help from Baridshahs but could not get help as Bidar was threatened by enemies. therefore Ibrahim ran away to Vijaynagar and took asylum in the court of Rama Raya. he stayed for seven long years in Vijay Nagar and was well looked after by Raya. After the death of Jamshed at Golconda, the nobles of Golconda welcomed Ibrahim as Sultan. Rama Raya escorted the Golconda prince to the outskirts. Of his capital and Ibrahim was coronated as third sultan of Golconda.Sadly Ibrahim took part in Tallikota battle. It is claimed that Rama Raya. In later years tried to even kill Ibrahim. but this can not be believed.
When Tallikota battle was in full rage Rama Raya was captured by enemy soldiers and Ibrahim reportedly knew that Raya would be killed by Nizam shah and Ibrahim reportedly rushed to Nizam shahs camp to save Rama Raya. but he was late and by the time he reached Rama Ray was killed. From a legend.
in fact Hussein nizam shah of Ahmednagar hated Rama Raya to the core. Rama Raya defeated nizam shahs army many times and it is claimed that Hindu army committed many atrocities on Muslim women and desecrated holy Quran. And the mosques. But this not truth. most of the Muslim historians must have written false accounts about ramacraya. Rama Raya was a great manipulator and no doubt he played one sultan against another one. And took part in their inter rivalries. This was based on politics of the times. Finally the deccano sultans got scared of Rama Raya and came together and declared jihad against Vijaynagar empire. although some historians and writers claim that there were no jilani brothers who betrayed Rama Raya. Proud ha deva Raya was the first ruler to induct Muslim troops in Vijaynagar forces and they served faithfully in all. Operations. Even Krishna Dev Raya Had Muslim troops and were faithful.. Proud ha Raya placed Quran on another throne besides his own throne in the court and thus the king great respect to the holy book. He also got built mosques in his kingdom. Sadly Tallikota battle changed course of history. After the war Vijaynagar forces defeated Muslim armies at penukonda and drove them away. The empire survived to 1646 before disintegration. Due to treachery of Chenji and Madurai chiefs in particular. our historians are unfair in their assessment of Rama Raya who strived hard to save South India from Islamization.
The phrase. Jump jilani used in Telangana has probably emanated from the betrayal of jilani brothers in Tallikota battle in 1646.. indirectly it confirms that jilani brothers jumped sides and joined Muslim armies betraying the Hindu forces and their king. they made no effort to prevent killing of Rama Raya and probably aided Hussein nizam shah in the gory act. Some of the paintings depicts lying of Rama Rays in which the executioner slices the throat if Rama Raya while he us pressed down. Some claim that nizam shah personally cut off the head of Rama Raya by his sword. Probably he must have acquired the title of ghazi after the act. Stories , legends raises finger against Gilani brothers in Tallikota battle although there is no contemporary literature to prove the incident. History is always written by the victor and the same has happened in case of Tallikota battle.
Aliya Rama Raya was the eldest son in law of Krishna deva Raya and harboured ambitions being a great warrior and manipulator.Krisha Rao left no living sons to succeed and hence he nominated his step brother Achyuta deva Raya who was in house arrest at a far away place.thus there was constant friction between the two during the fourteen year rule of Achyuta Raya. Bijapur sultan maintained good terms with Rama Raya and claimed himself to be his adopted son. He even mediated between the two warring personalities at Vijaynagar for sharing power.. After death of Achyuta Ray the throne was given to sadasiva Raya a descendant of tutu a dynasty. he was very young and Rama Raya for all purposes was a defacto emperor..There was none to question him..He became too powerful and sultanates got much worried and they firmed a nexus to defeat Hindu forces. when relation became worst they declared jihad. Sultan of Berar did not join the group. They had no border with Vijaynagar.
Tallikota battle took place in 1645 and Rama Ray along with his brother led his forces. The battle progressed favouring Hindus when jilani brothers the Muslim generals in Hindu army defected to sultans along with Muslim armies. Rama Rays was trying to shift from an injured elephant on to a horse when reportedly he was stabbed by a lancer and was captured . He was at once taken to Hussein nizam shah and Rana Raya was beg ended without delay. Hugs head was stuck at the end of a lance and raised high in battle field. it caused great chaos and Hindus list the battle.Ranarays brother Venkatagiri was also slain. Hearing the defeat Sadasivacraya and royal families escaped to penukonda fort carrying great wealth gold etc on elephants a leaving the city. Muslim armies ransacked the Hindu capital for ten months and then left. Although Sadasivacraya returned to Vijaynagar he could not stay long and returned to penukonda. Hami and Vijaynagar became deserted and turned into a den fir thieves and wild animals.
Sadasiva rayalu was lets killed by Tirumala rayalu the son of Rana Raya became the emperor at penukonda and repulsed Muslim armies that attacked penukonda. With their great losses. To Muslims. Later the capital was shifted to chandragiri in far south. The prestige of the empire was redeemed during the long reign of Venkatapathy rayalu. But after him the empire got involved in succession quarrels.Tppur battle was fought on Kaveri banks over succession issue after Sri Ranga II and loyal forces led by yachama naika of Kalahasthi and , Raghunath naiks of tanjavore met the rebel forces led by Jagga Raya, Madurai naiks, Chandi naiks, aided by Portuguese army and Chera ruler. the battle was on of the biggest one fought in India and Jagga Raya was defeated and killed on the field by yachama naika the loyal chieftain of the former king Sri Ranga who was assassinated earlier by Jagga Raya at vellore fort. Later rame deva Raya the only surviving son of slain king was crowned as the emperor. However the empire dwindled and by 1946 ceased to exist.
Read 1946 as 1646
Tallikota battle took place in 1565.. A correction for previous post. Topper battle took place in 1616 later half, Achyuta Raya ruled for 12 years. Tirumala Raya at penukonda was raya rats brother.
