GEORG BATCHMAYER .He was a SS captain at Mauthausen camp and was protective detention commandant where he was responsible for prisoners while they were within the camp. He also supervised granite production in the quarry. He was very brutal and had two ferocious large Mastiff dogs and he set these dogs on the poor inmates who were ripped apart alive. Scores were thus killed. Bachmayer shot his wife and two children before shooting himself on 8 may 1945 when Germany lost war and he was sure to be captured. He preferred suicide than capture and humiliation at the hands of allies by facing gallows...
