He was a SS functionary at dacahu camp and was arrested when the camp was liberated by US army.He was tried in the case US vs Martin Gorrfried Weiss at dacahu camp by US military tribunal and was sentenced to death. He was executed on 28 may 1946 at Landesberg prison..his chest number during the trial was number 5
