ZAFKE HUBERT ERNST
Zafke Hubert Ernst was a SS guard at Auschwitz
concentration camp and escaped trials
all these years. He is now 95 years. Nazi hunters finally caught with him and is now on trial in Germany for his role
in war crimes. He is mainly charged for his role during extermination of jews During
August sept 1944 during which train
loads of jews arrived from Greece, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Netherlands . The
trial began without any witness for giving evidence. The trial of John
Demjanjuk in 2011 became a precedent. He was 93 years old in 2011 and the judge
proclaimed that he was found guilty as he was present in the camp as
a member of the organization and even if he has not killed any one still he
was guilty as member of the organization. He was sentenced 4 years prison term.
Zafke is also being tried in the same way. However the doctors declared that
Zafke was unfit to stand trial as he was suffering from dementia. The judge has post poned the trial with fresh
dates. The trial is taking place at
Neubradenburg in Germany.. Critics claim that 6500 gurads worked at all the camps
and only 29 were punished after war in Germany and another 20 in East
Germany under Soviets..
