RICHARD BAER..Richard Baer was the third commandant off Auschwitz concentration
camp from May 1944 to Feb 1945. he was strum an fuhere of major s rank.Nera end
of war he replaced Otto forschener as commandant at doramittelban camp i.
Nordhuasen where Russian prisoners were executed at mass gallows. After war he
lived under false name of Otto Egon Neumann and in 1960 a warrant was issued by
the trial team for his arrest. it was published in news papers.baer worked in a
forest of Otto Bon Bismarck as forester and a co worker recognised him. Ad gave
Information to authorities. He was immediately arrested. He insisted that he
was Neumann and later accepted his identity. Richard did not stand trial as he
died in on 17 Dec 1963 due to herrt failure in the prison.

Otto Förschner was the concentration camp commandant of MMittelbau..Dora. He was relieved of the command due to his soft attitude towards prisoners and Gestapo rounded up many inmates for conspairing activities for resistance. He was also inducted for some financial irregularities. he was replaced by Richard Baer? He was arrested by US army at the end of war in April 1945. Ad was tried by US tribunal for war crimes at camp kaufering. He was sentenced to death on dec 13, 1945. And was hanged on 28 may 1946
