BISHOP GORAZD, CHURCH OF CZECHOSLOVAKIA, WW II
he was arrested by Germans after the assassination of obergruppen fuehrer Reinhard Heydrich a notorious and most cruel Nazi administrator of Bohemoa and Moravia by a Czech assassination squad called ANTHRAPOID in June 1942.The squad of 8 members was trained in England and para dropped in Czechoslovakia. the bishop was arrested after a member of the squad betrayed his mates and gave the location where they were hiding. they were hiding in cathedral if saints Cyril and Methodist Prague. bishop took entire responsibility on him. The members of the squad were killed in a shoot out with German forces. The bishop was executed by firing squad on 4 sept 1942 at Prague.
