The legion wore German uniform if wehrmachtwith a special shoulder insignia showing springing tiger. Boyce accepted hitter as the overall supreme commander of all forces and accepted him as the leader and signed to the effect. He had detailed discussions with Ribbentrop , himmlers and others apart from Hitler. it was agreed that legion will not be used against non British forces in the war except in self defence. As per the plan German forces with legion were to invade British India via Caucasus mountains, Iran, and Afghanistan . Russia was friendly to Germany in the beginning of war. but in 1941 Germany invaded Russia and with change of events the invasion of India was not possible. Bose therefore was sent to Japan to accomplish his task by. Joining Japanese forces. he was sent by German submarine via Cape of good hope and was transferred to Japanese submarine at madagaskar. in Japan Boise raised Indian national army if three divisions and established free India govt at Singapore. Burma was occupied and happy army with Ina invaded zindia from East and areas in Manipur and Kohima sector after bitter battles. . however America dropped atom bombs on Japan and this resulted in surrender of Japanese a forces and INA. Netaji was reportedly declared dead in a n air crash. in Germany Indian legion did guard duties in nettherlands and after D day landings by allies the forces were withdrawn to ITLAIN front. They operated against resistance forces.After the collapse of Germany teg legion tried to cros s over to Switzerland but were captured. They were sent to India to face trials.
I am a retired colonel from army and for the last 28 years pursuing career in Engineering education. I am a graduate in Mechanical Engineering and Post graduate in Machine design from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. I have obtained Ph D Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Dr Ram manohar Lohia Avadh University. I am also the recipient of Ph D degrees in Strategic studies, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Religious studies and political Science from other Universities. I have also written and published four books on political Science, education and English poetry. I have published 38 Technical papers in various journals and seminar proceedings. I have also published 950 research articles on line in faithcommons.org and Sanghparivar.org. There are 15 English short stories to my credit. I have published 82 articles on various subjects like strategic studies, history and political science in new Swatantra times published from Hyderavbad. As a professor I guided more than 95 projects at degree level and thirty at PG level. Some candidates are pursuing research under my guidance.I am recipient of Three national awards.
