TELLICHERRY FORT, KERALA STATE, INDIA
Telicherry fort is located in the town of Talassery(. Tellichery ). The fort was built in 1708 by East India company of England to control Malabar Coast. Hyder Ali of Mysore failed to capture the fort and Tippu sultan his son later ceded the Malabar province to the Englishmen after III Anglo Maratha war In 1792. the fort has very strong walls, mighty bastions, huge carved doors and is imposing. The fort has secret tunnels to the sea. the fort is square in shape.It is now with ASI ( Archeological Survey of India ) that maintains it.
