ROY COURLANDER. BRITISH NAZI. WW II
He was a British subject although lived in Newzealand. he joined the German Waffen SS during WW II and was part of famous six who made a recruitment drive for BFC At best the unit could boast of 54 members from the captured British citizens during the war. Their efforts to recruit Maoris the native newzealanders to join BFC failed. When D day arrived in 1944, he decided to ditch alliance with Germany. He worked as radio broadcaster for Germans and he travelled to Brussels where joined resistance group and was wounded in combat with retreating Germans.He was later arrested after The war and tried for treason and sentenced to 15 yeras that was later reduced to 9 years.He lived up to 1972. He is said to have lived near Auckland and New South Wales and took part in organised crime.
