He was a soldier in British Artillery regiment and he was captured in Germany during WW II during fighting with Germans. He defected to enemy side and he lived in Berlin where broadcasters lived. He was member of BFC and was taken captive by allies when he surrendered to them at the end of war. After a trial he was given ten year jail term for treachery and he served five yearsd and was released.mLater he worked at a hospital in north London and he married a 19 year old German girl and they had two children from the marriage. He died in 1983. Without telling anything about his war record to his family.
