He was a Czech communist
leader and a very prominent member of communist party of Czechoslovakia. He was
arrested by Nazis once they invade Czechoslovakia. he was brought to Berlin and
tortured severely. He was good writer and journalist. He wrote his views
on small papers even cigarette papers and smuggled them out with the help of
sympathetic guards. he was tried by people's court and he was sentenced to
death. he was executed on 8 sept 1943 by hanging. Later his wife published a
book using the writings of Ficik and it became a great success. in post war
period in communist Czechoslovakia, he was given a great here's status. his
wife was given the post of chairwoman of women's wing in the communist party
That she held for decades. His writings became a study material at schools.
