Pencil sketch of a Nazi by Dr K Prabhakar Rao

He was the last camp commandant of sachsenhausen camp during WW II. Thousands of prisoners were killed in the camp including scores of soviet prisoners? After the war he was arrested by Soviets when they liberated the camp. he was tried by another 15 members for war crimes and sentenced to life by the soviet military court in Berlin. For the first time soviets allowed Public to witness the trial. At that time there was no death sentence in USSR and thus the defendants  were sentenced to   life term with forcedlabour which was latter reduced too. He was sent to work in USSR coal mines at workout camp on polar sea and in 1948 spring he died along with
another five colleagues
