He
was an economist and banker. He was the president of Reich bank 1923 to 1930
and 1933 to 1938.He was the minister of economy. By 1944 , He was put in a
concentration camp by Nazis in 1944. It is alleged that his acquittal was obtained by
the Englishmen to save German financiers and industrialists, although he was
accused as major war criminal in the Nuremberg trial by the international
military Tribunal where he was acquitted.
