He was born in Bohemia in Czech
Republic that was occupied by Germany. During world War II. he studied there
and in 1947 he emigrated to USA under paperclip program and worked for American
firm. He was the pioneer in integrated circuits and obtained the patent
for the company where he was working. However he was not financially benefited
as he was an employee of the company.H e also did considerable work on LED .
His research has considerable effect on lithium batteries and fuel cells.He was
the prof emeritus at South California university. after retirement he wrote
poetry. he lived in Southern California And died in 2012.
