He was an aeronautical engineer and worked from1942. To 1945for N AZI Germany At Rocket development. Centre at peenemuede as propulsion engineer. After the WW II he was taken to USA. And worked with Werner Braun as a team member At Huntsville. He along with Werner Von Braun wrote a book " Mars project" .After govt service ,he worked at Bell aircraft and for Convair. in 1952 he designed the centar D 1 First upper stage booster with liquid hydrogen and oxygen, He also gave early space station design. Nexus reusable rocket was his next conceptual design in 1960 at General dynamics. He then proposed nuclear propulsion at Gen dynamics. After a distinguished contribution to space research he passed away on 21 April 1997. He visualized. Colonization of moon. He called moon as the seventh continent. As a tribute to him a portion of his cremated remains were sent by rocket into space and were given space burial.A. Fitting tribute indeed.
