He was a
senior SS police officer and was a Obergruppen fuhrer during WW II. He served
at Latvia and was under Heinrich Himmler. Latvian Jews were put to death in great numbers. He was a weakling in the struggle between
manipulations of seniors Nazi officers.The problem was with the elimination of Jews. Himmler wanted theses Jews to be outright put to death while Rossenburg
another senior SS officer wanted a portion
of the Jews to be kept for forced labor. Himmler replaced
Prutzmann with another SS senior
officer Friedrich Jackeln who was a
merciless killer and implemented his
plan of killing the Jews and was called Jackeln method. 10000 Jews were killed
in one day, a record. After the war Prutzmann was arrested by Soviets. But he
committed suicide in custody.
