EDITH STEIN
Edith Stein, religious name Teresa Benedicta a Cruce OCD, also known as St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross; 12 October 1891 – 9 August 1942), was a German Jewish philosopher who converted to Roman Catholicism and became a Discalced Carmelite nun. She is canonized as a martyr and saint of the Catholic Church. Earlier She worked as nursing assistant and completed her doctoral thesis and got assistance ship at University of Freilburg. After Nazi invasion she and her sister Rosa were arrested and sent to a concentration camp on 2 Aug1942. they were killed in a gas chamber on 9 Aug 1942. She was bestowed with sainthood
