He was an Austrian lawyer, politician and administrative
officer.. He was governor of two parts of occupied Poland first of Kraków, in
General govt and then District of Galicia now in Ukraine Then he was appointed
as Head of general military administration in Fascist Itlay. during last two
months of the war he was posted to Reich main security office in Berlin. He s
holding the Hon rank of Gruppen fuehrer equal to Lt Gen . but he was not in SS
and police forces. After the war he went yo hiding for four years while the
Soviet controlled Polish Govt demanded that he be handed over for trial for war
crimes in Poland Ghettos. He was given refuge by a Pro Nazi Bishop Alois Hudal
in Vatican in 1949 . There he contacted Juandice due to regular swimming in
local river from which he died in July 1949. It is also alleged that he was
poisoned. Before he died he revealed his true identity
