Dr Fridolin Karl puhr was a
SS captain And a medical doctor. Initially he opted to German air force I.e
Luftwaffe. However in 1944 he was found to have a heart problem and declared
not fit for active service. he was posted to dachau concentration camp on
15 DEC 1944. He was taken in to custody by American troops on 26 April 1945
when the camp was liberated. He was tried in the case of US vs Gottfried Weiss
in a group of 42 accused by US military tribunal. He was found guilty of war
crimes and was sentenced to death. Later it was reduced to 20 years. it was again reduced
to 10 years imprisonment. But he was released due to lack of evidence in
1950.After release, he stayed at prison to be the jail medical officer for the.
Nazi inmates in the prison. Later he left the job and was employed in a large
shipyard as a medical doctor. No further details of him are known after 1954.
Freidrich Witzel Strum bann fuehrer was a supply officer at
Dachau concentration camp during WW II. After war, he was arrested and tried by
Us military tribunal in a group of 42 members in the case of US vs Martin Gottfried Weiss held at Dachau camp. He was charged for war crimes although
apparently he was not involved in murders. The defense pleaded that he was soft
and innocent and food supplied was short leading to starvation a of inmates
where the. Camp senior officers embezzled funds ; yet he was sentenced to
death for being the member of Dachau team with common design the new found term
by allied courts.. He was hanged on 29 may 1946 at landesberg prison
