He was a Colonel from German army and was in General
staff.. He served in Poland after occupation and in eastern front as Quarter
master in 6 Army and in 1943 for Army group South. He later served under General
Bluemetritt as Chief Quarter master to the commander in chief. In Paris , he was involved in planning the coup.
Connected to the plot against Hitler planned for 20 July 1944 Along with Col
General Heinrich VON Stulpnagel and his adjutant Lt Col Caesar VON Hofackar..
When the plot failed. He was arrested along with others by Gestapo and was
tried at people's court by Freisler. He was sentenced to death and was executed
30 August 1944 along with Gen Heinrich. VON stulpnagel by hanging.
