EDEHARD VON BREITENBUCH
He was a German cavalry officer from
Wehrmacht i.e German army. He was an anti Nazi activist and was willing to assassinate
Hitler by shooting with a pistol. He was to attend a meeting with Hitler as an aide
with his seniors. Accordingly, he went
prepared with a loaded 7.65 mm pistol ( probably Walther make) concealed in his
trouser pocket. However, the aides were not allowed into the conference room by
SS guards owing to official orders. However, the plan was not detected and later
it resulted in plot 20 July 1944 involving Carl Stauffenburg. Breiten Busch thus escaped
prosecution and after war, he worked in
forestry.
