He was an Austrian
and he attended military academy in Austria and was posted at Linz .When
Austria was occupied by Germany, he accepted the new regime. But, he was much
upset with the murderes of civilians and became an anti Nazi resistance member. At relatively young
age, he was a Obersleutananat and in 1942, he was posted to General staff. When
the attempt on Hitlers life was made on 20 July 1944 he was at Berlin. However
he set the operation Valkyrie into motion without realising that Htiler escaped
the attempt on his life by using a time bomb by Colonel carl stauffenburg. Soon
he was arrested and tried at Peoples court and sentenced to death on 8 Aug 1944
and same day he was executed.
