CARL LONG BEHEN
He was a lawyer by
profession and participated in anti Nazi resistance movement. He knew that
Himmlers was in favor of discussions with allies for a negotiated settlement
to stop war. But Himmlers suggested the name of Johannes papitz to him. Long
behn subsequently visited Switzerland and met Allen Dulles of USA and discussed
the matter. Americans only wanted unconditional surrender of Germany. He returned
to Germany and soon he was arrested by Gestapo. He was tried by people's court
and sentenced to death by Freisler. He was executed at Plotzee prison.
