He was an anti Nazi Catholic activist from white rose organization.He was against the Nazi organization from the days of his youth and and three weeks of detention for his activities did not affect his spirit and once released, he continued his activities. He studied medical courses and during war, he was conscripted as medical orderly in German army. In 1943 he was taken into custody and tried and he was sentenced to death on charges of treason and high treason owing to his undermining the spirit of the soldiers. He was beheaded in October 1943. After the war, seven schools were named after him.
