 He was a Nazi police official during WW II. He took part in the murders of officials during the night of long knives after Hitler took over power. He got into contact with communist party leaders. And became a Soviet agent. He passed off secret and vital information to soviets and even informed the date of attack on Soviet Union by German forces. The information was fed to Stalin directly. his activities Were found out by the authorities and he was shot dead summarily without any trial by the orders of Heinrich Himmler who was the Gestapo supreme. authority
