He was a writer, dramatist and Nazi resistance fighter
associated with Red Orchestra. He was arrested, tried and sentenced to death in
1941. However it was reduced to 10 years based on the testimony of his cell
mate. He was liberated by soviets in 1945 at the end of the war. In Post war
life he distinguished himself as
a famous writer
